LFW AW14 | Holly Fulton

I literally sprinted past one bouncer and under the massive arm of another as they yelled "Right that's it, no one else", as due to bloody trains I was late AGAIN. But I wasn't going to miss this Holly Fulton AW14 show, no way, as it's been the only one I can make so far and possibly one of the few I'll get to due to shoots and workload at the moment (and random teenagers and Z listers nabbing all the tickets, GRRR).

So anyway I made it in and shuffled on the end of a back row without much time to sort my camera, hence very few shots except of behinds from yours truly below, have had to use the pros.  In fact I spent so much time fiddling with my iPhone in one hand and camera's aperture button in the other that before I knew it the show was over. What I did see flash past was Holly's trademark graphic prints and luxe fabrics in a beautiful colour palette of camel, nude, pale blue, red and black. Hurrah, colour for Winter!

What really stood out for me were the gorgeous printed coats in cool, mannish shapes and the beautiful, delicate feminine dresses in sheers and metallics.

Here are some of my favourite looks...

Launching This Week: Isabel Marant for H&M | Sneak Preview

As you'll have seen all over the fashion mags of late, the latest in a long line of designers to work with High Street fave H&M is Isabel Marant, who has for years brought us cool denim, fringed boots, wedge trainers, and general laid back luxe - styles that have seriously infiltrated the High Street of late.

And now the French fashion designer's oh-so-cool signature styles will be available for us peeps that can't always afford a high end label. The countdown is on. Isabel Marant for H&M goes on sale in two days, on Thursday 14th November, at 9am. (Not that we're counting or anything)

The British fashion press, including little ole me, were given a sneak preview the other week at the London head office of the brand. The pieces ooze that French Marant cool, yet still have the comforting H&M feel to them. I like. Easy-to-wear but not as 'out there' as some of H&M's other collaborations like Anna Dello Russo's, where, after a Season, you'll look like a bit of a twonk in those crazy sunnies, let's be honest.

Take the grey sweater below for example - a wardrobe staple. That's what I'd go for. But is it worth the queue on the 14th? Well, we all want a little designer in our wardrobes when we can, non?

Check out the full range here.

You see I really WAS there!

Accessories love | Reiss AW13

Oh hello, it's a sneaky little preview again!

Last week Reiss held their AW13 press day and although I've been ultra-busy, this was one event I was really keen to get to, as Reiss is one of the more top-end brands I get to work with on a regular basis. I do work with designer, but not that often. In fact I pride myself on making cheap-as-chips clobber look luxe (nearly every single item in the fashion editorial section of my website is High Street). Reiss makes that job a little easier for me with it's high-end quality and design.

I thought their shoes and bags this Summer were spot on, and chatting to the team at the press day in their plush boardroom (which has the softest thickest carpet in the world FYI) it seems the idea was to turn that up a notch for AW and really make sure they outdid themselves when it came to accessories.  And they did.

The Reiss design team's key idea was to merge not only male and female collections (men's and women's sat seamlessly next to each other throughout the space), but also fabric. The big 'thing' for them - they don't like to be mega trend-led - was mixing texture. This filtered to accessories too, which for me, were the stars of the show.

I love the simple, expensive designs that subtly say "I cost more than £80", without screaming designer.

Here are a few phone snaps of my edit of their AW accessories... (angles and space are never in abundance at press days, sorry!). Check out the different leathers, texture clashes, the beautiful designs... Gorgeous.

Reiss accessories designers, if you are listening, you did good. Very good.

Look out for these AW pieces hitting down from July.

WIBTW (What I Bought This Week): Miu Miu splurge

Blogging is getting tricky at the moment. Apologies for my slackness. I am working long hours on the magazine so not doing a lot else and have very little time to blog.  Very little time to do anything in fact! But it's all for the greater good...

All this hard work deserves a treat. It was payday for me last week and I felt a splurge coming on, to make up for all the late nights at the office.

Where to go when you want to spoil yourself rotten? Why, Selfridges, of course! 3 hours later I find myself in the shoe hall...

I rarely buy designer as can't often afford it but this time I felt the need. Shoes and handbags, right? Investment pieces, RIGHT?

So check out these little Miu Miu beauties. Salmon pink patent loafers. Definitely a timeless classic. Although someone did point out "What about your last pair of 'timeless classic loafers'. Go out of date?' Fair point. But c'mon, look at their cute little faces...

What I REALLY wanted was these Christopher Kane Chelsea boots with neon elastic. They are me all over. Classic but with a slight lariy twist. But at over £600 pounds, it was definitely unrequited love.

Then, just when I thought I'd seen it all, Marc Jacobs pops up with these mousey numbers. Love them. But reminded myself am not twelve... But so cute!

So I ogled something a little more grown up in the form of these gorgeous suede Acne boots. Divine.

And what other delights did this week hold for me?

It was a beautiful weekend weather-wise. I managed to go for a run, do my ballet class at The Brockwell Lido which I so rarely have time to do, and spend time with the legend that is Blue the Horse. We had hours together in the sunshine. A few of my favourite things, for sure.

Behind the Scenes: cover shoot with Kelly Brook for Fabulous magazine

My cover with Kelly Brook for Fabulous magazine was out yesterday.

Here are a few snaps from the day:

Styling up.
Rails and rails...
Gorgeous Moschino embellished collar dress.
Just some of the people on a cover shoot.

The view from our rooftop location.

Fashion is not always glamourous. The packing up takes HOURS!

Here are some shots the mag used:

Those Brian Lichtenberg sweaters...

I've been TOTALLY suckered by popular culture and bought a Brian Lichtenberg sweater.

An Instagram hit and celebrity favourite, Brian Lichtenberg is an LA designer who's collection of tees, hoodies, sweaters and caps are emblazoned with logos that look like well known designers, with a clever play on words.

I'll blame one of my favourite Brit models Cara Delevingne, who has championed the label on Instagram, for my recent purchase.

A limited selection is available from Browns Focus in London (there were very few left when I was there and I thought I was going to have fistycuffs with a guy who wanted the same as me). My jumper was £100 from here.

Amazingly tacky, perhaps, but I love them.

How to wear:

I reckon I'll be wearing mine over an oversize denim shirt (here a men's one by BDG - a great denim brand available at Urban Outfitters) and jeans (again BDG - my faithful bright blues). Try gold jewellery like a Fendi initial charm (not as expensive as you think!). Roll with the 90s vibe and wear with trainers (mine are Nike x Liberty from Office).

My other FELINE. Always on trend.
